Pat Dougher applied for college at Texas A&M. At Freshman Orientation, the Academic Advisor notified him, “Mr. Dougher, do you realize that 99% of all of the rest of the Freshmen rolled in our college are placed above you? Our records show people of your academic stature don’t last six weeks in our university. Are you sure you wouldn’t want to go to a junior college to see if college is your cup of tea?”
Pat was devastated; he had never been called stupid so proficiently in all his life.
At the end of his sophomore year, he was on academic probation with a 1.99 GPA. At the beginning of his Junior year, the College Dean called him into his office and told him that if his grades didn’t pick up, he’d have to pack up and leave.
They had a “2 strikes and you’re out” policy when it came to academic probation and grades, so Pat decided to do whatever it took to not make that 2nd strike… but he was still going to swing.
He never wanted to be called an idiot like that again, so…he developed his Accelerated Learning Techniques…and in his Junior year went from one Dean’s List to the other, from the wrong Dean’s List to the right Dean’s List, from a D student to an A/B student.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I watch the news daily, sometimes all day if I can. It does affect my mood too, now that you mention it. I would probably be much happier ignoring the fact that our President has just about started world war three with his ignorance. I don’t know what’s better. Getting invaded and not knowing about it until me and my family is shot and killed in front of my eyes, or having the opportunity to head for the hills and hide because I knew they were coming.
